The Forum Citizen Dilemma
organised by ESRA
20141027_The_Forum_Citizen_Dilemma
The dilemma that was discussed were the pros & cons of staying at home or going to live in a protected environment.

Our Gadi Sharon, Manager of the Protea HomeCare project, explained the kind of services that are offered to people who prefer to stay at home.

The primary purpose of our project which we have launched in Herzlia, Raanana, Ramat Hasharon, Kfar Shmaryahu, Herzlia Pituach and just recently in Tel Aviv, is to give peace of mind to people in their own homes and to their families, to maintain their independence, and to reduce their loneliness.

Our services include a “Case Manager” available 24/7 including regular home visits, supplying of hot meals, social worker support coordinating and connecting to services in the community, minor home repairs and networking between the members of the project and volunteers. The uniqueness of our program is that we build different packages to suit the needs of each person.

We have found that many of our clients are the children of our members who live far away from their families and had felt that using PHC would reduce some of their worries.

We act as a surrogate family.

All you need to do is call us and we would be very happy to arrange a meeting to give you further details and information.
